This is the most common question at our measures. The short answer: most homes end up with both.
The difference in one sentence
ForceField is a 316 stainless steel mesh: the clearest view, built for salty air, and the premium price. Protec is a perforated aluminium sheet: more daytime privacy, a slightly more filtered view.
| ForceField | Protec | |
|---|---|---|
| Infill | 316 marine-grade stainless steel mesh | Perforated aluminium sheet, powder-coated |
| Frame | Welded heavy-duty aluminium | Welded aluminium |
| View out | Clearest | Good, slightly filtered |
| Daytime privacy | Some | Strong |
| Airflow | Good | Good |
| Near salt water | Made for it | Ask us about your location |
| Price | Premium | Mid-range |
| Warranty | Prowler Proof 10-year full replacement | |
Choose ForceField when
- The view is the point: the backyard, the pool, the water.
- You're close to the beach, a canal or a tidal river.
- You want the front door to feel open and see who's there.
Choose Protec when
- The window or door faces the street or a neighbour.
- It's a bedroom or bathroom you want open at night.
- You like a flat, modern panel look.
Privacy at night
Protec's privacy comes from it being brighter outside than inside. At night with your lights on, that reverses. Keep blinds or curtains for bedrooms whichever screen you choose.
The mixed approach
A common setup is Protec across the front of the house and ForceField at the back. We match the frame colours so the screens still look like a set.
